At 17:30 at the Church of San Francesco will be inaugurated the exhibition of the artist Enrico Tealdi entitled “QUEL CHE E’ PRONTO A TORNARE”. This is an installation capable of giving voice to legality. The thirteenth century Church of Cassine (AL) has a history marked by findings. The last one concerns the seventeenth-century altarpiece “Nativity of St. John the Baptist”, attributed to the Milanese painter Giuseppe Leva, which had been stolen in church with seven other paintings on the night between August 4 and 5, 1997. Thanks to the discovery by the Carabinieri of the Nucleo di Venezia of the Command for the Protection of Cultural Heritage, in 2016 it has returned to its headquarters, the Chapel of San Giovanni, which has since been restored. However, the other stolen pallets are missing, whose lack, which generates empty spaces, connotes the church. “A wind, mixed with heat and nostalgia, seems to have first stolen and pushed, inside the church, 5 umbrellas, which roll like flowers abandoned sweetly. The installation presents itself with a poetic and dreamlike impact. Flowers, dandelions, something far back to tickle something, to gently suggest a thought “. These are the words of the artist Enrico Tealdi to whom Committee Matrice, Italia Nostra Section of Alessandria and the Municipality of Cassine, have commissioned, thanks to the support of the Piedmont Region, an artistic intervention that is a pretext for a reflection on the theme of protection. The exhibition, which will be open to visitors from 4 to 18 May 2018, is part of the broader framework of the second edition of “La Valle Bormida exposes”, the series of exhibition initiatives in the Valbormidi area, promoted and coordinated by the Matrix Committee.
