The artist residences, started in 2017, represent an important tool for the Municipality to activate a dialogue between the community and culture. Precisely because of the typical characteristics of the residences, in which the artists stay for a certain period in the place, it is possible to build real contaminations. In the context of the reflection concerning the relationship between the community and migrants, for 2019 the theme “the shape and the light of the stone was chosen. Near and far: worlds compared ”. The British artist and photographer Mark Cooper, an extraordinary interpreter of landscapes, was invited for the project. For the residence he will create a work in local stone that can be lived and interpreted and that will represent the fundamental elements that characterize a camera and the awareness linked to the vision in all its forms. The work will be placed in the growing sculptural park near the San Sebastiano Chapel.
