In 1986 Sergio Bonelli Editore hired Luigi Piccatto in the team of designers of the newborn Dylan Dog, of which Piccatto became one of the most prolific authors. His “cult” episodes (Golconda, Towards a distant world with Tiziano Sclavi and The beat of time with Michele Medda), and also some extra episodes like the whole series of “Dylan presents Groucho”. Many of the Dylan Dog books designed by Piccatto have been published in the USA, Brazil, France and the United Kingdom. Bergolo will be shown some of his drawings of the Dylan Dog episodes. Piccatto has a gritty and modern trait, the result of sharp lines and sharp shadows. An effective and fascinating style that makes him a master of black and white drawing. Over the years his line has evolved towards a greater graphic synthesis, as can be seen in his latest works and on the register “From Caporetto to victory”, but his signature remains unmistakable.
